The Edit

I try things. For my health, for my own ongoing investigation into what it means to live well in a body that is ageing, under load, in the real world.

When something is worth writing about — because it produced something observable, or failed to, or because the science underpinning it deserves more rigorous attention — I write about it here.

I bring a particular evaluative lens — a physiology-first framework developed through years of training, clinical collaboration, and embodied practice. That framework shapes both what I look for and how I account for what I find. These remain my observations: gathered under my conditions, in my body, in my real day to day life. A supplement that performs beautifully in a low-stress, optimised life is a different product from one that holds up when the terrain is demanding. I am interested in the latter, and I try to test accordingly. Experience is always a beginning — offered here as orientation, to be translated into your own conditions rather than applied wholesale.

Every piece in The Edit represents an evaluation period appropriate to the mechanism — sixty days for supplementation, longer for terrain and lifestyle protocols, shorter where acute response is the relevant measure. Independent research into the mechanism behind the claims. Honest reporting of what was and was not observed — including what surprised me, and what fell short of what I had hoped.

If something appears here, it has passed that process. What you do with it is yours to decide.

How you receive it matters as much as what it is.

Nothing here constitutes medical advice. Consult your healthcare practitioner before introducing new supplements or protocols, particularly if you are on medication or managing an existing health condition.

New pieces added as verdicts are earned — not on a publishing schedule.
